Description

Our client, a top-tier law firm, is seeking an associate with over 5 years of patent prosecution experience to join their life sciences patent team. The successful candidate will help build and manage patent portfolios for life sciences start-ups and should have a research background relevant to immunotherapies, vaccines, gene therapies, and genomics technologies. Key responsibilities will include assessing invention disclosures, conducting freedom-to-operate and patentability reviews, drafting and filing life sciences patent applications, and managing patent portfolios. Collaboration is central to this role, with a requirement to work from the office approximately 60% of the time. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Immunology, Structural Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related life sciences, have USPTO and bar admission, possess knowledge of the life sciences industry, and demonstrate a business mindset and a passion for the development of cancer therapies and vaccines. They should also have at least five years of patent drafting and searching experience at a law firm, and exhibit proficiency in scientific and legal writing, patent landscape searching and analysis.
