Description

Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking an associate with 2+ years of patent prosecution experience to join their life sciences patent team. This individual will assist in building and managing patent portfolios for life sciences start-ups, with a research background relevant to immunotherapies, vaccines, gene therapies, and genomics technologies. Responsibilities include conducting patent prosecution, assessing invention disclosures, conducting freedom-to-operate and patentability reviews, drafting and filing life sciences patent applications, and assisting with post-grant and inter partes review proceedings. The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant life sciences field, have USPTO and bar admission, and possess a business mindset with a passion for the development of cancer therapies and vaccines. Previous experience in scientific and legal writing, including patent drafting, is required. Candidates should be able to balance and prioritize competing responsibilities, stay organized, and exercise attention to detail.
