SUPERVISING IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY (0057)

Our client, a nonprofit legal advocacy organization dedicated to fighting for civil rights of oppressed minorities, is in need of a Supervising Immigration Attorney in Atlanta, GA to oversee and offer immigration legal services to individuals who are subject to removal proceedings or who are applying for immigration status or benefits from US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). In addition to supervising and training the legal services personnel and collaborating closely with the Director of Legal Services, the Supervising Immigration Attorney will also provide direct representation and advice to non-citizen clients. The ideal candidate for this opportunity is an attorney with 4+ years of immigration law experience. The attorney will: independently manage a caseload of immigration cases, including filings with USCIS, defense against deportation, and appeals; oversee the immigration paralegals' legal work and assist in the supervision of the immigration staff attorneys. The Supervising Immigration Attorney will have a meaningful opportunity to help design, monitor, and evaluate the department's practices, case management, and workflows to provide efficient, trauma-informed client representation. Finally, there will also be opportunities to conduct community workshops and take part in clinics that assist with citizenship, TPS, and DACA applications. Good standing in the bar with any state and/or the District of Columbia is required. Fluency in Spanish or Asian languages (Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Urdu, Hindi, or Arabic) is preferred. Salary range is $72,000 - $98,000, commensurate with experience, and is based on principles of internal equity.
