Description
Our client, a leading Entertainment and Media practice group, is seeking a Music Associate with 3-6 years of experience to join their specialized music team. This role offers the opportunity to engage in high-level transactions with a diverse roster of clients, including emerging talent, music companies, investors, digital music services, and music business entrepreneurs. Key responsibilities include working on a range of music industry transactions, providing comprehensive legal counsel on music M&A transactions, and conducting thorough due diligence. The ideal candidate should hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing of the California State Bar. Experience within the music business, either in-house or at a reputable law firm, is required. Proficiency in music publishing, recorded music, management, joint venture, sponsorship and endorsement, live touring, and digital music licensing deals is essential. Experience in music catalog sales and acquisitions is a strong advantage. The candidate should possess exceptional judgment, strong oral and written advocacy skills, and the ability to integrate seamlessly into a high-performing team.
