ENERGY REGULATION AND LITIGATION (2850)

Description

Our client seeks an associate with 2-7 years of experience to join their Chambers-ranked and growing energy practice in Washington, D.C. (hybrid). The team represents clients on a broad range of energy regulatory matters, including regulatory authorizations, administrative litigation before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state utility commissions, energy project development, regulatory counseling for energy transactions, appellate litigation, and interfacing with regional transmission organizations (RTOs). They work on large energy infrastructure projects such as renewable, thermal, and nuclear power generation, power transmission, oil and natural gas pipelines, and liquified natural gas (LNG) export terminals. Clients include regulated public utilities, independent power producers, independent transmission companies, private equity investors, tax equity investors, activist investors, and oil and gas companies. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings and briefs, policy-oriented advocacy, settlement and contract negotiation, working with experts to prepare testimony, conducting administrative hearings, providing regulatory support to M&A, private equity and project finance transactions, compliance counseling, and strategic advising. Ideal candidates will have experience working before FERC, strong research and writing skills, a keen interest in energy, a collegial approach to practicing law, and an interest in working on a broad variety of energy regulatory issues.
