Description
Our client, a national nonprofit and the nation’s largest civil liberties and advocacy group serving the Muslim community, is seeking to add a full-time staff attorney to their Atlanta office who has a passion for public interest advocacy impacting diverse communities. Through a combination of litigation, community education, advocacy, and direct assistance, this role will focus largely on policing, prisoners' rights, and immigration dockets impacting Georgians. This role will be exposed to other docket areas as well, like employment discrimination and matters involving general religious accommodations, while reporting to the organization's Legal and Policy Director. The ideal applicant possesses a demonstrated interest in working with various lawyers, community activists, and community-based groups as well as dedication to furthering the rights of low-income populations that are Black, Muslim, people of color, or immigrants.
