ENVIRONMENTAL LITIGATION ASSOCIATE (2643)
Description
Our client is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Environmental Litigation practice group, with opportunities available in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego. The ideal candidate will have a JD, be admitted to practice in California, and possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably from a law firm or agency. Essential qualifications include a strong background in environmental law, particularly with statutes such as CERCLA and RCRA, and experience in environmental litigation, regulatory compliance, and defense of enforcement actions. Familiarity with California state environmental agencies is required, and experience with federal agencies is preferred. The role demands significant experience advising clients on emerging environmental issues, regulatory requirements, and liability exposure, as well as negotiating compliance and cost recovery agreements. Candidates should be comfortable with the technical aspects of environmental operations and remediation, and experience with sediment-based contamination and remediation is a plus. Strong analytical, writing skills, attention to detail, and good business judgment are essential.
