Description

Our client is seeking an energetic and collaborative junior associate for their Washington, DC office, focusing on mortgage lending, servicing, and financial services licensing matters. Ideal candidates will possess a strong working knowledge of federal and state compliance laws related to mortgage lending and servicing, or other financial services sectors such as consumer finance, motor vehicles, and money transmission, or have a keen interest in specializing in this area. The role involves assisting with licensing matters, including licensing new companies, managing changes of ownership, and evaluating licensing obligations across all states and the District of Columbia. Responsibilities also include handling the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry applications, supervising paralegals, conducting extensive legal research, interacting with clients and regulatory agencies, and drafting correspondence and memoranda. Candidates should have strong academic credentials, excellent communication, legal research, writing, and analytical skills, strong computer skills, and a team player mentality.
