LITIGATION ENVIRONMENTAL LAW ASSOCIATE (3696)
Description
Our client is seeking a mid-level associate to join their Environmental Litigation practice group, with opportunities available in California offices including Palo Alto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego. The ideal candidate will have a JD and be admitted to practice in California, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental law. Essential competencies include a strong background in key environmental statutes such as CERCLA and RCRA, experience in environmental litigation, defense of enforcement actions, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with California state environmental agencies is required, and federal agency experience is preferred. The role involves advising clients on emerging environmental issues, regulatory requirements, and liability exposure, as well as negotiating compliance and cost recovery agreements. Candidates should be comfortable with technical aspects of environmental operations and have experience working with environmental consultants. Experience with sediment-based contamination and remediation, and representing clients in heavy industries, is advantageous.
