TAX CONTROVERSY TAX LITIGATION ASSOCIATE (2701)

Description

Our client is seeking a 1st or 2nd year tax associate with 1-4 years of relevant experience to join their Tax Disputes & Tax Litigation practice group in Washington, DC. Ideal candidates will have tax controversy experience and substantive tax knowledge, gained from either a law firm or government agency (IRS or DOJ). Responsibilities include legal research, drafting legal memoranda, factual investigation, witness interviews, responding to IRS requests, eDiscovery, drafting motions and briefs, and defending depositions. Associates will work on client representation teams before the IRS and in litigation, gaining significant responsibility and direct client contact. Strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and teamwork under pressure are essential. An LLM in Tax, CPA experience, or prior work with the IRS and DOJ Tax Division is advantageous.
